As the Evening Glow Bids Farewell to the Day

The work uses stacks of photos of a relative who is closely related by blood but estranged in reality as clues, unfolding a time travel journey in Japan which is at times a pursuit, at times a coexistence, and at times a drifting apart from the relative.
That relative came to Osaka alone in his twenties to work, and his Japanese boss arranged for him to stay in a short-term rental apartment. During the day, he visited a company that produced silk flowers for business, and in his spare time, he attended a language school to study Japanese. Day after day, year after year, Osaka became a significant part of his life. The photos do not convey a sense of yellowed nostalgia, but rather capture the peak of his vitality.
From June 9th to 13th, 2025, I wandered, observed, contemplated, and imagined through the streets of Osaka with a collection of photos of his life in the 1990s.
